On October 18, 2024, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Sports project DAYS, a Focus Group on the project theme of dance as a sport was held. Interesting ideas arose during the discussion. This summer’s Olympic Games in Paris were mentioned several times, when breakdance was included in the Olympic Games program for the first time and as one of the brightest representatives of breakdance, an Australian dancer was featured in the focus group block on dance as a universal language.

It should be noted that at the end, the participants were asked how they would describe the connection between dance and sport in one sentence or one word or in a slogan, and they mentioned such expressions known to Latvians as sweat and tears, there is power in movement, emotions, perfect compatibility, with music on the podium, both require rhythm, discipline, skin and character, through thorns to victory.

Such focus groups are held in all partner countries – Turkey, Portugal, Romania. The results will be summarized in a project research report, which the DAYS project consortium will share in August next year.
