ABOUT THE PROJECTThe Erasmus+ project “S.P.O.R.T.: Strengthening Participation, Opportunities, Respect, and Tolerance through Sports” directly addresses the urgent issues and needs stemming from the increasing occurrences of intolerance, xenophobia, and discrimination in today’s societies. These societal challenges threaten social harmony and the well-being of individuals, particularly youth, who often face social exclusion, limiting their opportunities for personal growth and societal engagement. Moreover, there’s a growing necessity for enhanced intercultural competence as our world becomes more interconnected and diverse, necessitating skills to engage respectfully and effectively across cultural boundaries. We aim to foster a culture of tolerance, respect, and mutual understanding among youth from diverse backgrounds through sports. This project not only seeks to use sports to bridge divides but also to equip youth with the skills and attitudes necessary for being active, tolerant, and inclusive citizens in their communities and beyond.
PROJECT ACTIVITIESThe activities include interactive workshops, sports, daily reflection sessions, and cultural exchange evenings. Workshops will cover topics such as leadership, teamwork, and appreciating cultural diversity, using methods like storytelling, roleplaying, and group exercises. Sports activities will not only promote physical health but also teach values like respect, communication, and how to work well in a team. These are designed to be inclusive, ensuring everyone can participate, regardless of their sporting ability.
