S.P.O.R.T. Day 1: Cultural Awareness and Diversity Appreciation

We have successfully welcomed all the teams and, the new Erasmus+ youth exchange project S.P.O.R.T. “S.P.O.R.T: Strengthening Participation, Opportunities, Respect, and Tolerance through Sports” has started. On the first day, as usual, an interactive introduction among the participants and the basic rules, and expectations, contribution and fears that this youth exchange could bring to each participant. We carried out this activity with the help of the cooperation charter, creating a cooperative and respectful learning environment in three groups: Expectations / Fears / Contributions.

The topic of the first day: understanding culture and valuing diversity. In the Cultural Mosaic session, participants shared and appreciated different cultures through personal stories and traditions. On the other hand, the activity “Walk in My Shoes” in Kobuleti city center helped to raise empathy towards diverse life experiences. An important session was devoted to the Erasmus+ Programme and the Youthpass.

The day ended with a Daily Reflections at first among each country’s team and afterwards among the group leaders. After the dinner Lithuania held the Intercultural Night sharing their traditional dances and food in particular.
